River Wye

All Coarse fishing: £8

The last two years has seen a vast improvement in the the Coarse fishing on our stretch of the Wye, with Barbel to 14lb and number of fish in double figures coming to the net. Loads of Chub, a good number in excess of 6lb have also been landed in the last 12 months. We have also seen an increased number of Carp being caught, some of which have been in excess of 25lb, a trend we think will be continued. Some quality Roach, Bream and Perch have also been landed.

7 acre Oxbow Lake

General Coarse fishing: £6

Pike fishing: £8

Over the last few years we have seen a number of quality Bream being caught. We imagine these have been brought in during the heavy floods of 2007/8, as they average 6-10lb. They are obviously breeding well in the lake as a number of smaller fish are being caught, and these will provide a good diet for the main quarry in the lake, the Pike.

In recent years the Oxbow has produced Pike to 31.5lb, and last winter, even though weather conditions meant fishing was very restricted, we still had Pike out to 25lb+.

The resident shoal of Tench, which average 5-6lb, are still around, with a couple going just over 10lb in recent years. As the river floods into the Oxbow, any fish in the river can be found in the Oxbow, so don't be surprised to come across some quality Chub, Perch and Roach.

Carp Pool

Day Ticket: £6

As the name suggests the main quarry is Carp, of which the biggest this season was 25lb. There are also some decent Tench in the water to around 6lb, and a good number of Perch. There are a few Roach and Chub, along with ocassional Pike, perhaps to 20lb. In the past the fringe lilies have been a problem. I have had a word with the owner and he has assured me that their growth will be controlled. I will ensure this happens.
